I'm a huge fan of personal training, Marie and TRX. I'm a pretty driven A type personality, but Marie still pushes me further than I'd be able to push myself. She makes sure I'm sore in all the right ways and none of the wrong. Thru our journey together I've never been injured and have lost 6 points in body fat percentage - my strong body is finally making itself be seen! She also finds ways to keep me interested and motivated. The most recent example of this is the addition of TRX. I've never "looked forward" to lifting weights, but I do look forward to our TRX sessions. It's fun and challenging and is kind of like playing on the monkey bars in the playground. Bottom line - I'm entering my 50's more vital than when I entered my 40's - and isn't that what it's all about?

I've been with Goodlife for over 3 years. I've used trainers since starting and have been very fortunate in getting great people, particularly my current trainer, Marie. First some personal background: I've worked as a lawyer for the past 25 years, doing solicitor-advisory work , which essentially is a desk job. I was overweight, have diabetes and high blood pressure, did very little regular exercise, and last but certainly not least, I smoke. I`m now retired at 60, and wanted to focus on improving my health. Marie set up a very reasonable program for me. She didn't push me at first, instead, she subtly moved things along. She's truly interested in helping me get fit. I really like her regime: she avoids a static "same old, same old" regime. She changes the exercises and weight to provide what I find to be a great mix. I don't get tired of the various schemes (except I really dislike doing "inch worm" whenever I have to do it). I had a herniated disk operation about 20 years ago. Marie`s work on my flexibility has been a godsend. I`ve recently taken up golf, and with my increased flexibility, my back hardly bothers me at all. Finally, I like to ask questions about what we're doing. Marie always answers them in detail, clearly and concisely. Recently, she's stepped up things a notch or two, going past low impact exercises to include basic interval training. I huff, puff and sweat, and curse and swear to myself, but have kept at it. The best part is that I feel really good after our sessions, energized for the day. Marie goes beyond physical training: she offered to provide me some help on diet issues. I know I should take advantage of the offer but haven't yet (& I will). She hasn't push the issue - which I appreciate. So, I'm losing weight, I've reduced my percentage of body fat, I'm becoming more flexible, and generally feel good about the status of my health than I have for the past 30 years. As you can see, I measure my progress by small steps. Here's a last example: my 19 year old son was home for a visit. He's in good shape and showed off how well he can flex his deltoids. The next morning I stood in front of our bathroom mirror and tried to flex my delts. Much to my surprise, I could actually flex them - a little bit. It was the first time in 30 years (if ever), that I could do that. I was very impressed with myself! So, many thanks to Marie and Goodlife for moving me forward on the road to better overall health.

I am a 60 year old retired person who has had the benefit of having Marie Crawford as my personal trainer since December 2010. I have a year long program with Marie, so it is essential that client and trainer see eye-to-eye. Marie has inspired me to be the best that I can be and, with her help, I continue to improve and progress. I certainly get me money's worth from her training, as Marie does not have time to sit and chat - I'm always on the move despite all my dramatics. We use each hour to its maximum benefit for me. Marie checks up on how I feel and has adjusted my program to fit with my needs. I look forward to my continued association with her as I move through my next training phases.

It was great to meet you yesterday! It didn't take much thinking for me to decide that I think personal training is the way for me to go at the moment. I think that will give me maximum results, as I really am looking at this as a long term project and lifestyle change, not a quick fix! The TRX program looks awesome, but I think in the early stages that personal training specific to my needs would suit me best.
